The Future of Roofing Innovation
What’s new in the roofing industry? At Qualified Roofing, we keep up with the latest in the roofing industry, and we can tell you, roofing will look somewhat different in the future than it does today. The world can expect innovations in this field to grow as people demand more and more protective roofing features. Recently, a trade show that featured new roofing materials showcased some interesting products that are coming to a market near you very soon.
These were shown off at the 2022 International Roofing Expo, and we wanted to take a look at a few of the products that are really making a splash at this time.
Commercial Roofing Systems
When many of us think of roofing, we think of the roofs over our homes. It is easy to think of our own home roof as the type of thing that roofing companies primarily focus on. Indeed, there are some companies that spend a lot of time on residential roofing, and we will talk about some of the innovations that are occurring in that space as well. However, commercial roofing often receives more attention from the roofing companies in the sense that they have more spaces to deal with and larger roofs overall.
Single ply commercial roofing membrane systems are one of the latest innovations to come to the commercial roofing space. These membranes can be 45, 60 or 80-mil and have a range of widths from 5 to 12 feet. Additionally, they come in white, gray, or tan colors, depending on what is best suited for that specific commercial roofing need.
These systems are created to make excellent roofs that will last a long time. The amount of wear and tear that a commercial roof can take is significant; therefore, the innovations in this field must also be rather significant.
Residential Roofing
IKO’s Dynasty premium quality laminated performance shingles have received the honor of carrying a Class 3 impact resistance rating. They were already considered some of the top shingles, and they are now leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. Roofs built with these shingles provide their owners with a sense of security if inclement weather hits their area.
Homeowners who use these shingles may receive a discount on their insurance based on the quality of the roof that they have had installed. You might think that all of that high-quality protection material would come with some drawbacks. That is not really the case. In fact, the color blending technology this company used has been praised as helping to maintain the quality look of any roof. As such, you can expect your roof to both look great and provide you peace of mind that comes with having something that is highly protective.
The world will continue to see many innovations in the roofing space as time goes on. Companies and designers are already hard at work creating the next level of roofing materials to protect against weather and other challenges that may come in the future. You should expect new roofing innovations to come out nearly every year that are better than the ones we have today!
